There was a small period of time when updating Genesis (not WordPress!) created an issue for some of the Genesis Featured Posts widgets (Communities are a fork of the Genesis Featured Posts widget) This is fixed with Genesis 2.5.2.
WordPress 4.8 could introduce some issues if you use HTML in your text widgets. This is because that widget was changed to a rich text widget. You can read more about this and get a link to download the old (classic) text widget here:
